Glen Bond July 22, 2007 Picayune, MS Subject : Salvation has come Like 19:10 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Christ came to seek the Lost. You say , The Lord will seek me. If he seeks me I know that he will find me, after all, he is God. Christ came to seek the lost. If you are here today, then Christ has found you. The obligation of His work is ended. Look at the verse right before that, verse 9 (Luke 19:9) Luke 19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. He says, "This day is salvation come to this house..." Salvation has come to this house, it has come to your house. Why then, are you not saved? Look at: Luke 13:34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! Christ says here: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; and you will say "O he is talking aboout those in Jerusalem." No!, He is talking to you. You are no different than those people. He says: ..how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings.. How many times has the Lord tried to gather you to himself? How many times has the gospel call went out to you? That call to - come to me, the call to repent. the call to 'come and reason together'. How many times has the Lord said "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as snow"? Then look at the last part of that verse: Luke 13:34 ...and ye would not! That is why you are not saved, "and ye would not!" Christ said: John 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. If you won't come to Christ for life, then that leaves only the opposite, death. Christ has sought you out, brought you in from the world. He has brought you here to hear the gospel, you have heard it over and over again. Salvation has come to each of you, and you will not have it. Here is what every lost sinner is doing: Luke 19:14 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us. Many will say, "Oh, thats just a parable". Yes, it is a parable, but a parable is a generic way of pointing out the facts without having to name the names of those who hear it. This parable shows each one of us what we are by nature: haters of God, and rejecters of Christ. "No, he is talking about those people in that city". NO! He is talking to YOU! You simply won't have it. But look what the Lord has reserved for all those who reject him. Look at verse 27: Luke 19:27 27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. Are you going to continue to reject Christ? Will he say to you, "bring him here and slay him before me"? Ezekiel 18:30 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? ...for why will ye die, Salvation has come... Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: Micah 7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Nehemiah 9:17 And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not. Revelation 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
