Subject: To live is Christ, to die is gain!

Phillipians 1:21  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Thinking about the judgement of this world. The Lord chose me, paid my great debt of sin and made me one of his.
When I read about the judgement of God, when He will judge all of the world, I am made to praise him. I praise him for his great mercy toward me.


To live is Christ.  To live is to praise Christ, it is to tell others of Christ. It is to do the work that he has for me in this life. It is to know that He redeemed me. It is to continually see that he didn't have to save me. It is to know that I WAS a sinner, AM a sinner, and WILL BE a sinner while I am in this body.

Do you know HIM??
Do you live to His glory and hoonor?

Psalms 9:10   And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee:

and again, look what the Lord says:
Psalms 91:14 
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 

Why do you want to know the Lord?
To know the Lord is to know salvation.
It is to come to know Him as righteous, holy and just.

To know the Lord is also:
It is to KNOW your self as a sinner.
It is to KNOW that you deserve ONLY eternal Hell for your sin against a holy God.

To know the Lord is more than to just know his name.
Knowing the Lord and knowing yourself go together.
First you see yourself, and then you will call on the name of the Lord, because you see your trouble.

Romans 10:13   For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.



Look what the Lord says about those that don't know him.
Psalms 79:6   Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

Rev. 6 Read whole chapt.

Rev 8:6-13
6   And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7   The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
8   And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9   And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10   And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11   And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
12   And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
13   And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

Utter destruction is comming.

Rev. 16:21   And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: (115 lbs)

Bro. Shelton said that this world will be completely destroyed before Christ comes back. When we look at the destruction that is coming, I don't understand how any person or animal can come through it alive.

Where is your hope today?
My hope is in Christ.

Jonah 2:2   And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Jonah cried out of the belly of hell.
Every saved sinner comes to that point. To see that they are in the belly of hell.

Have you ever come to see that you are already gone? Already passed into hell?

Are you still deceived by Satan?

do you think you are going to get by?

Are you like most of the world, hoping that when you die- your name will be in the right book?
Most people that you will talk to will tell you: Well, I think that when I die, that I will go to heaven. I haven't been that bad.

Even the most hardened criminal will tell you this.
Why?
They are deceived by the god of this world.
They have never been awakened by the Holy Spirit to see their lost needy condition.

If you have never been awakened by the Holy Spirit, then you too are deceived.


Call on the name of the Lord.
Seek his face.

Psalms 9:10   And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Come now and let us reason together.
You don't need to be awakened to come and reason with the Lord.
