Glen Bond April 23, 2006 Subject: The reward of the saints Genesis 15:1 1 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. What is the reward of the saints? I want to try and show a little of it. -------------------------------------------------- 1 Spend eternity in heaven. The saints of the Lord will be in heaven for ever. 1 Thess: 4 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Are you looking forward to being with the Lord? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 - To be delivered from this sinful body. Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? -------------------------------------------------- 3 To be delivered from sin. There will be no sin in heaven. Rev. 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. -------------------------------------------------- 4 To praise Him for salvation. Praise him for saving me. For having mercy on me. I didn't deserve it. For loving me with that everlasting love. Psalms 136: Whole chapter :O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever. -------------------------------------------------- 5 To be with Christ 1 Thess. 4:17 So shall we ever be with the Lord. -------------------------------------------------- 6 To see Christ. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. Song. Sol. 5:10 My beloved is white and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand. 11 His head is as the most fine gold, his locks are bushy, and black as a raven. 12 His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set. 13 His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers: his lips like lilies, dropping sweet smelling myrrh. 14 His hands are as gold rings set with the beryl: his belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires. 15 His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. 16 His mouth is most sweet: yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
